Dynamic Address Services... Dynamic Address Services provide a free service usually for up to five individual web site addresses. What do these services provide you?
- translate your IP address internet service to a name you create in your account
If you use a basic internet package at home chances are your IP address changes every two weeks automatically, if you don't want to bother with a DNS service you must purchase a "static" or permanent IP address, just ask your provider.
When you find your DNS server. you will create an account, look for the Dynamic Name Service.
Once you have your name selected, this is what you will put in place of the numbered IP address that will appear on the web pages you create; I have an example below.
<applet codebase="http://insert.dynamic.address:8011/" code="webcamXP.class" name="webcamXP" width="320" height="240" hspace="0" align="left" refresh="15" filename="cam_1.jpg"></applet>
<iframe id="shout" width="320" height="240" src="http://insert.dynamic.address:8011/chat" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" align="right"></iframe>
The 8011 would be my open port used by the webcam server program.
